Recap: March Meeting – “Value-Engineered” Waterproofing Errors

This post written by CSI East Bay-Oakland chapter member Dan Galvez.

We had a packed house at Scotts Seafood Jack London Square for a presentation by EBO member Lonnie Haughton with Richard Avelar & Associates.

Lonnie presented his case study of “Value-Engineered” Waterproofing Errors. Lonnie’s findings were published in the February 2018 edition of Interface magazine.

Thanks to the Laney College architecture students and their instructor, EBO member Ron Betts. We appreciated their attendance and were grateful to be able to provide them relevant information on the potential pitfalls of changes during construction and how to prevent design and construction problems.

Also, many thanks to our tabletop sponsors. EBO member Scott Tyson with Sika Corporation. Warner Hobart and Christal Gress with Gaco Western. Scott, Warner and Christal have supported the CSI East Bay Oakland chapter for many years, thanks again.
